  • What to expect
Learn what to expect at your first massage appointment, so you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible during your experience. Massage benefits include promoting muscle recovery, helping prevent injury and relieving soreness or tension. When should I arrive? Arrive 10 - 15 minutes before your appointment for check-in and to complete any necessary paperwork before your massage begins. What should I wear for my massage? We recommend undressing to your comfort level. For example, some men prefer to wear gym shorts and some women will keep their undergarments on. You will be covered by a sheet at all times while the massage therapist works on the areas you discussed during your consultation. Our massage therapists use oil, which will transfer onto clothing items worn during the service. Small amounts of oil may also transfer to clothing items or hair when you get dressed after your appointment. Should I do anything to prepare for my massage? Drink water before and after your massage as part of your everyday healthy routine. How does the massage start? Your massage therapist will guide you to a room from the waiting area. The appointment starts with a consultation to answer any questions you may have and determine the best course of action for your service. The massage therapist will then leave the room for a short time, allowing you the privacy to undress to your comfort level and get comfortable under the sheets and blankets on the massage table. The massage therapist will knock and await your confirmation prior to reentering the room, ensuring you are ready to begin. What happens during the massage? Depending on the type of massage and your consultation, your massage therapist will use a variety of techniques to help you relax and release tension from your muscles. Feel free to speak up at any time during your massage, and ask your massage therapist to adjust the pressure level, table heat or any other comfort issues. Once your massage time has ended, your massage therapist will let you know they are leaving the room and will meet you outside the massage room when you are ready. You can use this time to get dressed and gather your belongings before exiting the room. You’ll then head back to the reception desk
  • What conditions does Massage Therapy help with?
Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. Practitioners use a wide range of techniques including applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement to the body. Therapists primarily use their hands, but may also use their forearms and elbows. Therapeutic massage can be used to promote general well-being and enhance self-esteem, while boosting the circulatory and immune systems to benefit blood pressure, circulation, muscle tone, and digestion. The basic goal of massage therapy is to help the body heal itself and to increase health and well-being.
